Cerro Sombrero - Rio Grande (23-24/03/2011)
|
86+68 km parcourus |

We feel that the final destination is approaching... I little by little already started to get some writers-block... Certainly now, because we did this part already before and we again recognize everything.
(So, let's put some more pictures (to fill the space)... ;-) )

I could write again that there was a lot of wind, or write about the beauty of Tierra del Fuego (which it is : the grass has like a golden color, but on the other hand it seems a little too much
like the 'Wadden-'eilanden' (=Holland) to me here (with the difference that there you have only each time like 10kms of this kind of scenery, and here it's 100s of kms)...)

The first day we camp 23kms before San-Sebastian. We know it's the last time that we will camp (and make a camp-fire) in this trip, so it is kind of a special evening...

In the night it rains a lot, and the next day the ripio-road is very muddy. It is (also) the last part of ripio-road of the trip, so we should enjoy these last kms on dirt-road, but instead (with all that mud) it's hell... We're full of mud =our pants, shoes and luggages, but also the chain of the bike, which makes us advance very slow today... Again we don't make it till Rio-Grande in a reasonable time, but again take (for the last 40kms) a lift to it.

This confuses Enzo a little (because we also did not make a longer day-record than 3 years ago, and we made less total-kms then 3 years ago), but I think that (considered all-together) we did pretty well in this trip, as we made more difficult parts this time (with much more ripio, and much less paved roads...)
